LAHORE: Pakistan Test captain Misbahul Haq will take the fitness test at the training camp for the England tour, which started in Kakul, Abbottabad on Saturday. Players underwent practice session in the camp yesterday. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) summoned leg spinner Yasir Shah back for restoration programme at National Cricket Academy due to his knee injury. The national cricketers are undergoing fitness camp at Kakul Military Academy under the supervision of Pakistan Army. The two-week duration camp will end on May 28. The players will be taught team discipline and how to remain punctual. The players will have to leave for the boot camp at sunrise and no excuses will be accepted. It is pertinent to mention that the cricketers had undergone the same kind of training programme in 2013 in Abbottabad. A PCB spokesman said though Misbah reported to the fitness camp set up in Lahore from May 8 to 12, he could not take the test as he was suffering from fever after returning from Saudi Arabia where he went to perform Umrah. It is a known fact that Misbah is one of the fittest players in the Pakistan squad despite at the age of 42. Former skippers Mohammad Hafeez and Shahid Afridi are not part of the camp owing to injuries.
