LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said those who were making hue and cry on offshore companies, themselves owned such companies.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would answer all the questions of opposition in the National Assembly on Monday, he said while talking to journalists after the cake-cutting ceremony on the first anniversary of a private television channel here. He said that the people should wait for the prime minister’s speech.

He would respond to the questions of the opposition and other parliamentarians. To a question, he said that the government would welcome any call for dialogue from the opposition. Three-fourth of the opposition wanted to hear the prime minister’s speech, he added. To another query, he said that the prime minister’s whole life was an open secret as he had always practiced fair politics.

He said that the prime minister regularly submitted his income tax returns and the people who were accusing him of having offshore companies, had been exposed as they themselves owned such companies. To a question, he said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz had rendered invaluable services for the restoration of judiciary.

He said that the long march undertaken by the PML-N was for the restoration of the judiciary and not for former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry. He said that the former chief justice did not represent anyone. He had no political standing and no one even knew the name of his political party, he said.

To another question, Pervaiz Rashid said that all the national institutions, including the armed forces, were on same page. The minister also felicitated the TV channel management on its anniversary and expressed good wishes for the future.
