ISLAMABAD: Dozens of armed persons grabbed an official house by keeping the court bailiff outside the home. They also retained the lady officer who had been allotted the house under illegal custody for many hours just a kilometre away from the parliament house.

The Daily Times came to know that a government house No 30-G, in the sector F/6-3 was allotted to Principal of Nursing School PIMS Ghazala. Earlier the house was in possession of some officer who was living abroad but he maintained his custody by keeping armed guards at the house with the connivance of Deputy Secretary Estate Office.

The lady principal who was the allotee of the house went to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad then according to law he sent a court bailiff under the supervision of Magistrate Ali Javed to vacate the house. When the bailiff along with the Principal Ghazala reached there, Inspector Zohaib of Estate Office was already present.

After some time Deputy Secretary Estate Office Usman Sarosh Alvi reached there and ordered his inspector to go out. The he called some unidentified man and after a few minutes armed persons in three vehicles reached the house and took control of the same.

They also gave life threats to Ghazala by saying if she would not shun the thought of living in this house, she would have to face dire consequences.

The sources told the Daily Times that the house was allotted to Ghazala many years ago but she had to knock the doors of the court to have it vacated. After winning the case from the court of law, she went there along with the courts’ bailiff. However an influential person under the patronage of Estate Office’s Deputy Secretary had grabbed the house, which is the state property. The hooligans carrying latest arms also came on the crime scene after the telephone call of the officer.

When This reporter contacted Ghazala, the affected lady officer said that she submitted an application in the police station against DS, Usman Sarosh Alvi for grabbing the government property, making her hostage and threatening her with the assistance of private gangsters.

When Inspector Zohaib of Estate Office was contacted he said that he was ordered by the higher officials. He agreed that getting the house was a legal right of the woman Ghazala but he was a low paid employee and could not disobey his bosses.

Magistrate Ali Javed told the Daily Times that the bailiff is at the mercy of the Estate Office. If the Estate Office is personally involved in any case, the bailiff has no authority to vacate the house.

The Daily Times also tried to contact Deputy Secretary Usman Sarosh Alvi and Secretary Housing Shahrukh Arbab again and again but no response was received from the other side.

It is pertinent to mention here that the roaming of armed person openly and grabbing a government owned house forcibly hardly a kilometre away from the parliament house raised many questions about the security measures in the federal capital.
