ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended the Lahore High Court (LHC) verdict over the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) union elections.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case regarding the union elections for the collective bargaining Agent in the PIA.
During the course of proceedings, the counsel for the petitioner told the court that the elections were not held through secret balloting. The justice remarked that elections were always held through secret balloting.
He remarked that the tenure of current PIA union cabinet could not be extended according to the law. The court directed that the PIA union elections should be held on time. The tenure of current PIA union would complete on June 6.
