KARACHI: After completing two years term, the Consul General (CG) of Switzerland in Karachi, Emil Wyss, has said that during his tenure in Pakistan, he earned much experience, respect, love and affection with the people of Sindh.
Emil also met with the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan and thanked him and the people of Karachi for the exceptional hospitality. As per official statement, during the weekend the consul general of Switzerland along with his wife visited Mausoleum of the Quaid-e-Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and met with other dignitaries in Karachi.
The Swiss envoy also paid a visit to Abdul Sattar Edhi at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) and appreciated the services rendered by him. Later, the Swiss couple met with special children at the Dar-ul-Sakun and donated blood for children suffering from thalassemia at the Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF).
Before final departure from Pakistan, the National Staff of the Consulate General offered him farewell. The Consul General of Switzerland in Karachi, Emil Wyss is now posted at the Consul General of Switzerland in Los Angeles.
His successor in Karachi, Philippe Crevoisier will take charge in September. In the interim period, Jordan James Din, Head of commercial section, will be the acting CG.
