National Wrestling Championship to be held in Gujranwala

ISLAMABAD: The 62nd National Wrestling Championship (free style) and 6th Beach Championship will be held from May 26-29 in Gujranwala.

Pakistan Wrestling Federation Secretary Arshad Sattar told APP on Thursday that as many as ten teams from all over the country would take part in these two events. The teams include Pakistan Railway, Pakistan Army, Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Police, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, Islamabad and FATA.

Wrestlers will contest in eight weight categories – 57 Kg, 61Kg, 66Kg, 70Kg, 75 Kg, 86 Kg, 97 Kg and 120 Kg. “During the first three days, the grapplers will contest in the National Wrestling Championship (free style), while on the last day they will be competing for honours in the Beach Championship, Arshad added.
