Minor brawl gets a rickshaw driver killed

KARACHI: Two drivers of auto rickshaw had clashed each other on Monday resulting in one punching other to death for over taking him to pick up the passenger first in New Karachi Industrial Area. Police has arrested the killer and registered FIR against him.

According to the SHO Mohammad Waseem of PS NKIA, police received information about the murder incident in the area of Chandni Chok, upon information when police team reached the spot there a dead body was found on road while people gathered on the spot handed over one accused to police.

Police took the dead body in custody in shifted it to the hospital for postmortem and further legal proceedings where the deceased was identified as Hassan Bakhsh 30 years resident of New Karachi Khamiso Goth.

Whereas the accused was shifted to the lockup of PS NKIA where he told in his statement that he and the deceased were waiting for passengers in their rickshaws when some passengers on the road waved their hands for a ride, both of them started their vehicles to take the passengers first but the deceased reached there first by over taking him.

At this point they both had scuffled with each other and the accused beaten him with punches. Police handed over the body to the family of deceased by calling them from the deceased’s mobile phone.
