The event was formally inaugurated by Professor Dr Irfanullah, Dean of Engineering, CECOS University Peshawar along with incharge event Dr Azhar Qazi, HODs and FYP Coordinators. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Departments displayed final year projects in open house. Local industries, HR departments of reputed organisations were also invited in open house as to provide opportunity for outgoing graduates to interact with potential employers.
Highly qualified external judges from reputed organisations evaluated and examined projects and subsequently decided winners. External judges for Civil Engineering Department, were Karim Gul, Resident Engineer, Jalozai Housing Scheme and Dr Zeeshan Ahad, who is serving as Chairman of Civil Engineering in a private university, for Electrical Engineering Dr Khoram Shizad, Assistant Professor in a government university and Engr. Mohsin Khan CEO Water Pump Industrial Area, for Mechanical Engineering Department Hassan Aslam CEO HICON Pharmaceutical and Dr. Naveed, Assistant Professor in a government university, for Computer Science Department Tauseef-Ur-Rahman, Assistant Director PDMA and Zafar Iqbal, registrar in a private university.
“To polish the technical dreams of undergraduate students of engineering and computer science departments, final year design projects are best option. To showcase these design projects of students open house is arranged every year. Employers and research organisations must take full advantage of this open house to hunt talent,” said Dr Azhar Qazi. The event concluded with a closing ceremony in which vice chancellor CECOS University Peshawar was the chief guest, who distributed awards among the top three winners and best commercialisable category.
