Highest paid Major League Soccer player

ORLANDO: Brazilian athlete Kaka is the highest Major League Soccer (MLS) player right now with a salary of $7.167m.

Salary figures have been released by the Players’ Union on Thursday and Kaka has topped again as the most successful and paid players. After Kaka, Sebastian Giovinco from Toronto is the highest paid player with a salary of $7.115m.

All the players of MSL of the 20 teams get paid $3.66m each but three ‘designated players’ get paid whatever the club wants to pay them and Kaka is on the top. The maximum salary for a player on MLS website is $475,500.

The third highest local paid player is American national team’s captain Michael Bradley from Toronto, with a salary of $6.5m. American striker Jozy Altidore from Toronto is also featured in the top 10 who is a former player of Sunderland and has not scored a single goal this whole season.
