You could be the first person to sleep in the Eiffel Tower

It’s the most famous feature of the world’s most romantic city – and now you could make history by being among the first to spend the night up the Eiffel Tower.

A custom-built holiday apartment has been erected in the monument, which looms up to 1,000ft above the French capital.

Travellers can apply to have a chance to spend the night above the city streets with the chance to look down over the city’s most recognisable attractions like the Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Palais, Sacre Coeur on Montmartre and the Seine River.

But the short-break bolthole isn’t going to last forever, with dates for the stays limited to four nights in June and July.

The historic opportunity is a competition prize set up by holiday rental firm Home Away.

Teaming up with French interior designer Benoit Leleu, they’ve planned a swanky flat with everything you need to feel at home – but in Paris’ most desirable address.

“We present this unprecedented Eiffel Tower history-making adventure, guaranteed to provide the most epic holiday memories of a lifetime,” Home Away CEO & Co-Founder Brian Sharples says.

Entrants must answer the question, “What would you do if the Eiffel Tower was all yours for a night?”

Overnight stays in Home Away’s Eiffel Tower Apartment will take place June 23, June 28, July 4 and July 8.

Fans are also invited to help shape the final design through a #EiffelTowerAllYours crowd-sourcing campaign on Home Away’s social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.

“Creating a temporary dream holiday property inside this world-renowned monument reflects our company’s offering of private and comfortable accommodation that’s perfect for making long-lasting holiday memories,” Home Away Chief Marketing Officer Mariano Dima said.

But if you miss the chance to stay overnight, don’t despair – Home Away will host tournament viewing parties and other free activities in the Home Away Eiffel Tower Apartment between June 10 and July 10.

More information can be found at homeaway.com/eiffel-tower and on the company’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter channels. The contest runs from May 19 – June 5, 2016 in Europe.
