ISLAMABAD: The Speaker National Assembly has suspended the membership of an MNA, Chaudhary Asadur Rehman, hailing from PML(N) for the ongoing session. This has been done for his abusing the PM, the parliamentarians and the bureaucracy time and time again.

Chaudhary Asadur Rehman belongs to Jhelum and he is the brother of former Judge of the Supreme Court Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday. When he was judge, the lawyers gave an application against him to the Pakistan Bar Council that Justice Ramday was insane as he often misbehaved with them. The lawyers asked the Bar to make arrangement for a medical treatment of his mental disease.

On Thursday, Chaudhary Asad-ur-Rehman first tore away his application in the office of the Secretary National Assembly, then he levelled ghastly abuses against the entire leadership of the PML(N) including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

On Tuesday the Speaker National Assembly took action against him by giving a penalty of termination for the current session. The sources told the Daily Times that Chaudhary Asadur Rehman is following the footsteps of his brother, Justice retired Ramday.

Earlier he also misbehaved with a lady MNA, Shagufta Jamani, who even complained in black and white to the Speaker’s Chamber, but the Speaker did not take action against him.

Then he made the Chairman Standing Committee for Law and Justice Chaudhary Bashir Mehmood Virk a victim of his bad tongue. He also gave an application to the Speaker for taking action against him. He had also been charged with throwing a chair on the head of PML(N) MPA Mian Rafiq, who gave an application to IG Punjab.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that Chaudhary Asad-ur-Rehman badly misbehaved with MPA Makhdom ali Raza Shah, MPA Col (Retd) Ayub, MPA Nazia Jameel, who have also complains with relevant authorities.

Chaudhary Asadur Rehman is also the chairman of the Privilege Committee of the House and he has also been alleged of becoming wild and furious at the bureaucrats who attend the committee’s meetings. Many top bureaucrats have also complained against him to the Secretary National Assembly.

After the Speaker suspended his membership, he by venting his anger abused and used exceptionally bad language against all the leadership of the PML(N), for quite a long time in the lobby of the Assembly.

When Bashir VIrk was contacted in this regard to know his viewpoint on the suspension of Asad, he said that he was an emotional man. Shagufta Jamani said that usually his behaviour with his colleagues was very bad.

The open abusing of the political leaders and bureaucrats by a MNA is a point to ponder for the Speaker’s Chamber.
