ISLAMABAD: Spacious bungalow worth millions of rupees located in residential area of posh sector of F-7/1 in federal capital wherein office of IG Police was functioning earlier and was later vacated under the orders of Supreme Court (SC) is still under the illegal occupation of federal police and district administration officers.

The federal police kept it under its occupation for nine years by converting it into IG Office. However, they had to shift the IG Office to Police Lines Headquarter Islamabad along with bag and baggage two months back in the second week of March under the orders of Supreme Court (SC).

But only shifting of office has taken place and the bungalow is still held hostage to police in perspective of its occupation.

Bearded Constable Muhammad Arif still is deployed for security duty in this bungalow, who performs his duty from 700 hrs to 1900 hrs daily.

Sources said Sui Gas Department and WAPDA have removed their meters from this building due to non payment of bills but the transformer owned by federal police is still installed in green belt opposite to this bungalow. Police has written in clear words on it what speaks loudly that this transformer is owned by police.

Police sources said that police and district Administration officers are not ready to withdraw from this bungalow at any cost. However, all the barriers around this bungalow have been removed.

IG office, AIG office, PA’s B-branch and accounts branch offices remained functional in this building from 2007 to March 2016. Following the operation by CDA against the encroachments and action against commercial activities in residential areas at federal capital, Supreme Court took suo motu notice of this issue. Therefore, police had to vacate this bungalow wittingly or unwittingly in pursuance of court’s orders.

The Daily Times learnt that IG office was also located in district courts Islamabad earlier like SSP office. The under-construction IG office building in sector G-11 near judicial complex has turned into ruins due to suspension of construction work since long for want of funds. As many as three budgets have been announced ever since the incumbent government has come to power but IG office building is still incomplete. Therefore, IG office was shifted to Police Lines Headquarters Islamabad for this reason.
