DADU: Amina Shahani aged45, wife of Akbar Shahani allegedly committed suicide by shooting herself with a pistol at village Nau Wahan in Taluka Sehwan on Tuesday. Shahani was reportedly frustrated domestically as she was not being treated duly by her husband, said police. Besides, the family was fighting over land for a long time. Akbar and his son Ahmed Shahani had threatened each other of murder if someone does not withdraw the claim on the disputed land.
Akbar Shahani lodged a first information report with Sehwan police station against his son Ahmed Shahani. She being the mother was angry with her husband over the FIR. She tried to persuade her husband to make consensus with the son; but Akbar Shahani turned down the persuasion. As a result, she picked up her husband’s weapon and shot herself which killed her on the spot. The police took the dead body of the deceased into custody moving it Taluka hospital for an autopsy.
