Campaign against corruption a conspiracy: Daniyal

ISLAMABAD: Danyal Aziz, a ruling party parliamentarian and close aide of Nawaz Sharif has stunned the National Assembly on Friday by claiming that unprecedented campaign against corruption is being unleashed in Pakistan that is part of a conspiracy being hatched against present democratic setup.

Under well knitted plan orchestrated by anti democratic forces the name of Maryam Safdar, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was included in Panama Papers to dilute the political power of Nawaz Sharif as the British tabloid paper The Guardian did not mention her name in its report published before the revelation of ICIJ, he claimed.

He asked what was purpose of highlighting the raids being conducted at the residence of corrupt persons and retrieving plundered wealth from water tanks and added it is being established that incumbent regime is involved in corruption.

The elements who are tacking the corruption tag to Nawaz Sharif government have forgotten 8041 corruption cases that were waived under NRO and later on the apex court declared NRO unconstitutional on the petition of Shahbaz Sharif.

He said a perception through a media campaign is being created in the country and among the people that incumbent rulers are corrupt. Pakistan Tehrik Insaf (PTI) strongly protested with the government that the issue of Indian agent arrested from restive province Baluchistan was not allowed to be discussed in the parliament.

Shireen Mazari raised the issue of Pakistani citizen extradition to UK involved in criminal activities without an extradition agreement between Pakistan and UK and added the government should also seek the criminals hiding in UK whose cases are pending in different Pakistani courts.

Pakistan Muslim League N leader Nisar Jatt also criticised the government for not seeking the extradition of a police officer who fled to UK after killing a dozen people in Faisalabad and cases are still pending in the courts of the country.

PTI leader Sarwar Khan said on point of order that more than 500 adjournment motions are pending in speaker’s office but the government has not allowed putting them on agenda. He said adjournment motion is all about public important issue that must be debated in the house in order to mitigate the public problems.

MNA Asia Tanoli highlighted the issue of student fees being demanded by private school owners and said that government should devised a mechanism for private school because the parents are being fleeced by this mafia.

MNA Mian Mannan informed the lower house of the Parliament that Punjab farmer community has agreed to resolve their grievance through negotiation and the committee has been formed to seek and resolve their problems on priority basis.

MNA Shah Jee Gul Afridi asked the government to enhance the wages of Khasa Dar Force deployed in FATA and their risk allowance must be approved in the next budget.

Khasa Dar Force is fighting with terrorism as the other forces of the country are busy in the war on terror.

MNA Jamal Din expressed his annoyance with the way FATA people are being treated by the security forces on the name of security and called upon the quarters concerned that People from FATA are loyal to Pakistan and their tribal tradition should also be preserved.

Arif Alvi a firebrand Parliamentarian from PTI dressed down the incumbent regime for not resolving the acute shortage of water in Karachi and said Nawaz Sharif had pledged with the people of port city that their woes would be resolved.

He said PM announced more than 70 development schemes for Karachi but the federal government has not released even a penny for these schemes.

He called upon the federal government that it should not met step motherly treatment to Karachi. MNA Wasim Ahmed also reprimanded water and power minister for unscheduled load-shedding in Hyderabad and added that the people from that city are on the street against the policies of government.
