Police officials, involved in heinous crimes, still on duty

ISLAMABAD: Police, which is custodian of law is making mockery of law in the federal capital with the reports that over 150 federal police officers against whom cases of heinous crimes including murder, dacoity, kidnapping for ransom and facilitating drug traffickers and car lifters have been instituted are not only present on their seats in respective police stations but most of them have been elevated to next grades.

They have not only been declared Mr clean, but also the files of their sins and crimes have been shelved by high ups.

Daily Times has obtained record entitled “Criminal cases against police officers” which, includes list of names of those police officers who were not only facing allegations of heinous crimes but such charges were also proved and cases were registered against them. All these cases were either put to cold storage with the passage of time or the applicants were forced to withdraw the cases under intimidation and coercion.

According to this list, cases were filed against the police officers including murder case was registered against ASI Hafeez and ASI Hamid Shahzad on September, 9, 2015 in P S I-9, case of sexual assault against inspector Haider on February, 3, 2015 in P S Margalla, against Inspector Munawwar Ali in P S Shahzad Town on February, 6, 2015, Four cases of cheque dishonour, against ASI Najeeb Ullah in P S Margalla and one case in Sabzi Mandi, against ASI Ali Raza in Police Station Kohsar on February, 27, 2015.

Case was filed against ASI Azkar on 1 May 2015 with P.S Ramna, against ASI Muhammad Sadiq on 27 July 2015 with P.S Margalla, against Inspector Iftikhar Chatta on 28 May 2014 with P.S Koral, against Inspector Shaukat on 19 June 2014 with P.S Kohsar, against ASI Asif Shah and Head Constable Arshad on 12 February 2014 with P.S Kohsar. It is pertinent to mention here that Head Constable Arshad has been promoted to ASI,

Case were filed against ASI Arshad Cheema on 11 March 2013 with P.S Ramna, against Inspector Munawwar Ali on 14 April 2013 with P.S Koral, against Inspector Malik Akhtar and ASI Shakeel Butt, on 26 May 2013 with P.S Aabpara, against Inspector Arshad Cheema on 5 June 2013 with P.S Margalla, against SI Mazhar Iqbal on 5 June 2013 with P.S Bani Gala, against ASI Ishaq on 11 September 2013 with P.S Sabzi Mandi, against ASI Najeeb Ullah on 25 September 2013 with P.S Margalla, against SI Asghar Ali Bhatti on 15 October 2013 with P.S Shahzad Town, against Shahid Munir Warraich on 2 December 2013 with P.S Shahzad Town, against SI Sattar Baig and HC Aoun Abbas on 25 November 2013, against constable Intazar on 20 December 2013, against DSP Idrees Rathore. DSP Abdul Razzaq Khan, Inspector Arshad Ali and Younis Gujjar on 5 March with P.S Sihala, against Inspector Abdul Razzaq on 25 August 2012, against SP Ishaq Warraich, ASP Dr Khalil, Inspector Asjad, ASI Gul Khan on 29 September 2012 with PS I-9, against SI Ch Javed on 15 December 2012 with P.S Kohsar, against Inspector Aslam Kalyar on 23 Feburary 2011 with P.S Shahzad Town,

Cases were also filed against Inspector Iqbal Hussain and SI Abdul Rehman on 15 May 2010 with P.S Sabzi Mandi, against SI Abdul Razzaq on 27 November 2010 with P.S Koral, against ASI Shahid Munir with P S Sabzi Mandi on January 18, 2009, against ASI Muhammad Riaz and head constable Muhammad Hussain with P S I-9, 31 March 2009, against sub-inspector Sitara Shah (Now inspector) on 2 June 2009 with P.S Koral, against sub-inspector Asghar Ali Bhatti on 3 August 2009 with P.S Kohsar, against constable Muhammad Boota on 7 May 20016 with P.S Kohsar and against sub-inspector Nawab Asif on 20 February 2008 with P.S Shalimar.

Similarly, case against head constable Ansar Mehmood on 30 July 2009 with P.S Kohsar, against inspector Muhammad Bashir, SI Altaf Hussain and ASI Muhammad Shafi on 3 June 2008 with P.S Margalla, against SI Ikram Ullah (now inspector) on 28 November 2008 with P.S Shalimar, against Inspector Muhammad Bashir, SI Altaf Hussain and ASI Muhammad Shaffi 3, June 2008, against SI Ikramullah (Now Inspector) P S Shalimar 28 November 2008 were also registered.

Cases were also registered against constable Zaheer Babar on 21 December 2008 with P.S Aabpara, against inspector Abdul Majeed (now SHO) on 17 June 2007 with P.S Bhara Kahu, against SI Muhammad Rafique (now inspector) on 29 October 2007 with P.S Kohsar, against inspector Haider Ali on 21 March 2006 with P.S Kohsar, against SI Lal Din (now inspector) on 25 September 2009 with P.S Shehzad Town, against head constable Qaiser Mehmood (now ASI) on 22 May 2005 with P.S Shehzad Town, against SI Shamas Khan on 22 October 2005 with P.S Kohsar and against inspector Khalid Virk (now DSP) on 18 September 2003 with P.S Golra were registered.

Furthermore, case against SI Saleem Shah (now inspector), ASI Fayaz Shinwari (now inspector and SHO) on 17 January 2000 with local P.S, against SI Muhammad Sadiq (now retired as SHO), ASI Muhammad Ikram (now inspector) and SI Saleem Shah (now inspector) on 18 January 2000 with P.S I-9, against SI Muhammad Afzal (now inspector) and ASI Muhammad Nawaz (now inspector) on 8 February 2001 with P.S Margalla and against SI Asjad Muhammad (now inspector) and SI Zawar Hussain (now DSP) on 27 July 2000 were also registered. Besides, several officers who were charged with various FIRs are holding the different positions in different police stations.
