ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday, while hearing of an appeal of a co-accused convicted in kidnapping, rape and murder case, ordered to release him.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case. During the course of proceedings, Advocate Bushra Qammar counsel for accused police official Shabbir stated that the high court and the trial court had acquitted two accused in the case.
The parents of deceased Babar Sultan also appeared before the court and stated that their accused was Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Munir Baloch. They stated that they were recording the statements without stress and fear. On which, the court directed to release accused Bahir Ahmed.
It is to mention that ASI Munir Baloch along with his three other accomplices stopped a car on a checking point in Peshawar and they took four people including two women into a house for investigation and raped the women. They also killed Babar Sultan.
