Capital Police working with 900 vacant posts

ISLAMABAD: The vacant posts including the high ranks in Islamabad Capital Territory Police badly affecting the performance of the police besides adding in the crime scenario of the capital city.

The situation is also creating problems for the people who do not find an officer at important post or find others trying to handle multiple tasks at more than one position at the same time.

According to a document available with Daily Times, 980 posts are still vacant in the federal police including a key post of DIG and the three posts of SSPs. Likewise, the posts of one DSP, ASP’s six posts, Inspector five, Sub-Inspector 20 posts, ASI 38 posts, DES two posts, Assistant 11 posts, Stenotypist 15 posts, Data Entry Operator six posts, UDC nine posts, LDC eight posts, Naib Qasid 16 posts and 35 posts of Followers are vacant in Islamabad police.

Officials said the delayed in recruitment in the force is not only hurting official business but they also provide the officials an opportunity to skip duty under the guise of the non-availability of the concerned officials. The worst affected are the complainants, visitors and department employees who hardly find police officers to address their grievances.
