LAHORE: Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza sought final arguments on petition challenging ban on exhibition of Pakistani film ‘Maalik’ on Tuesday.
Judge directed to the petitioner and the government counsels to appear on May 26 for a submission of their final arguments. Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf-backed opposition leader in Punjab assembly, Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, and an advocate, Munir Ahmad, filed these petitions.
Petitioners counsel submitted that the ministry of information, broadcasting and heritage through its notification of April 27 had imposed a ban on exhibition of this film. He postulated that earlier the film
censor board had given its approval for the exhibition of this film.
