ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Wednesday that the government took steps to attract Chinese and other investors across the world to invest in Gwadar.

While talking to a private news channel, he said “we should address the difficulties of Baloch people besides development of Gwadar.” The minister said the speed of development at Gwadar would increase with every single project coming on the ground under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said that Pakistan’s exports would increase after completion of Gwadar port adding that connective roads with other parts of the country would be completed at the end of this year. This was the most advanced port in the whole region, the minister said. The government has declared tax free zone to Gwadar for 23 years, he concluded.
