PTDC bus service between Rawalpindi, Naran to start from June 1

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) seasonal bus service between Rawalpindi and Naran will start on June 1 to promote domestic tourism in the country.

The PTDC spokesman said that both the national and International tourists could avail service. He said the bus would start its journey from Flash-man hotel Rawalpindi adding travel time for the journey was set to be as 8 hours. This PTDC Naran motel was situated on the bank of the river and had 60 rooms, huts and cottages for the accommodation purposes, he added.

The environment of Naran is very pleasant and peaceful. He said PTDC was also providing special discounted tour packages to the families, students, group tourists and foreign tourists. The PTDC started the bus service in 1997 which is successfully going on till to date.

The bus service operates from June to August. Thousands of tourists visited Naran, Kaghan valley by utilising this service, he added. He said PTDC had set up Tourism Friends Club. He said 20 per cent discount would be given to the members on the facilities being provided at all hotels, motels and tourist resorts operating across the country.

He said interested persons could get themselves registered with the club by paying Rs 500, while annual fee would be Rs 1500 for each member. “Purpose of the club is to promote tourism activities and provide better tourist facilities at affordable rates to its members to upkeep and maintain better standards,” he said. The PTDC is operating around 18 Tourist Information Centres all over the country for the last 30 years to provide information, travel guide, brochures and maps to tourists for planning their holidays.
