HYDERABAD: Re-construction of 61 kilometer Nawabshah-Sanghar Road would be carried out with funding of $20 million through Chinese Exim Bank Loan to ensure better communication facilities to people of the area.
The PC-I prepared by the Sindh works and Services Department was approved by the Central Development Working Party CDWP and the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC). Consultant for the project has also been selected and work on the said project would start soon, according to sources at Works and Services Department.
The project to be completed with the assistance of China at an estimated cost of Rs 3037.4 million. China would finance Rs 1780.535 million for the project while the remaining amount Rs 1256.9 million would be contributed by the Sindh government.
The project would be completed within a period of two years after awarding the contract and government would invite international competitive bidding within next few days.
This project would ensure better communication facilities to over 5 million population of different areas of Sanghar and Shaheed Benazirabad districts, the sources said.
