KARACHI: At least 90 percent employees of provincial Agriculture Department are enjoying OPS and non-cadre level secretary posts in Market Committees (MC) of Sindh, Daily Times has learnt.
Violating the apex court orders, a large number of employees were reposted as secretary of BPS-16 and 17 and others under A, B, C and D category non-cadre and OPS level posts in Sindh Agriculture Department Marketing Wing.
Sources said that according to the directives of Supreme Court, OPS and non-cadre officials should be removed, but despite of this, hundreds of employees on OPS enjoying the post of secretary (BPS-17) and other posts in various districts, tehsils city and towns of province.
According to the list available with Daily Times, the Market Committee Karachi Administrator Imtiaz Hussain Bhutto was reposted from another water wing of Agriculture Department extension, while in Karachi Haq Nawaz as office superintendent of BPS-16 was reposted as secretary of BPS-17.
In Hyderabad, Mohammad Nawaz Thebo, office superintendent of BPS-16, was posted as secretary of BPS-17, Tando Allah Yaar Ahmed Khan Pitafi, sub-inspector of BPS-11 posted as secretary of BPS-17.
Similarly, many other officials were reposted across the province violating the apex court orders
While talking to Daily Times, Agriculture Secretary Gulzar Ahmed Shaikh denied reports of positing of non-cadre or OPS in market committees of Sindh.
He also refused any illegalities and said that the department’s director general had submitted him certificates for compliance of Supreme Court orders.
Later, Daily Times presented list of hundreds of employees who are enjoying on the secretary level positions in market committees of Sindh. However, Agriculture Department Secretary Gulzar Shaikh did not responded.
