QUETTA: Former Balochistan Finance Adviser Mir Khalid Langove has been handed over to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for a 14-day remand by an accountability court on Thursday.

His pre-arrest bail was denied by the Balochistan High Court before his arrest from within the court’s premises on Wednesday. He was brought to the accountability court today amid tight security. NAB requested a 14-day remand from the accountability court, which was granted. The custody of the former Balochistan Finance Adviser has been handed over to NAB till June 7.

NAB had summoned Mir Khalid three times before the arrest but he had refused to appear before the bureau. He had resigned as Balochistan Finance Adviser after former Balochistan Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani was arrested. NAB had recovered Rs 730 million in the form of local and foreign currency from Raisani’s house and took him into custody as well.
