ISLAMABAD: Ali Mustafa Dar, son of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, has filed a Rs five billion defamation suit against Imran Khan, PTI chief, in District Court Islamabad for damaging his and his family reputation and for levelling false allegations against them.

The petitioner Ali Mustafa Dar, filed the defamation case through his counsel barrister Munawwar Iqbal Duggal, in the District Court Islamabad.

Ali Mustafa took the plea that Imran Khan, while addressing the nation with reference to Panama leaks from Banni Gala on April 10, levelled concocted and baseless allegations against him and his family and this way he caused damage to his and his family’s fame and dignity.

Dar said in his application that Imran Khan lied in his speech that he and his brother Mujtaba Hussain Dar owned some properties including two towers in Dubai which were purchased illegally through corruption. Imran Khan levelled these allegations without evidence.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge, Raja Khurram Ali Khan, will issue notices to the parties concerned today (Friday) and later the regular hearing of the case will start.
