KARACHI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 14623 kilogrammes of drugs, and arrested an accused, during a raid conducted in the last 24 hours, the ANF spokesperson reported on Thursday. The sources have confirmed that the ANF team captured 13,700 kilogrammes of opium and another 433 kilogrammes of hashish from a house situated in Ghazi Town area of Malir, and also arrested an accused. The accused had hidden the drugs in places across the house. The force personnel also seized another 290 grammes of heroin in a raid conducted in Sialkot. Here, the narcotics were recovered from two parcels, booked from Sialkot, by a courier company based in Karachi. The parcels would have been delivered to an address in Netherlands. ANF is now pursuing its search for the man who had booked these packages. Another 200 kilogrammes of high-quality hashish was recovered during a raid conducted on a truck found at Shikarpur Road in Sukkur. The team also arrested an accused person. Neither of the alleged perpetrators is being named by the ANF, due to unknown reasons. These raids come only a day after a capture of 27 kilogrammes of heroin from a PK 305 aircraft by the Pakistan International Airline’s (PIA) maintenance crew at the Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
