Bilawal, Zardari on same page with no differences: Chandio

Author: Staff Report

KARACHI: Adviser to the Chief Minister Sindh for Information and Archives, Maula Bux Chandio has said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPP President Asif Ali Zardari are on the same page and there is no difference of opinion between them on various political and national issues confronting the country including the issue of Panama leaks.

He said that any statement of the PPP chairman is regarded as policy of the party. The perception about PPP is standing with or supporting the federal government adding that we are not standing with government but supports democracy only.

Chandio criticised the federal government for lack of coherence and clearance on foreign policy issues especially the drone attacks inside the territory of Pakistan. He said that drone attacks are a great threat to the sovereignty of the country but silence of the prime minister on this very important issue is meaningful.

He said that whenever any issue of national security arises, PM Nawaz Sharif goes on silence. He asked that why PM Nawaz Sharif does not clear his stance on the issues of national security. He further asked if PM Nawaz could address the nation on Panama issue, why he could not do the same on national security.

Moula Bux Chandio said that PM’s visit to London is more important or matters related to national security adding that we are the friends of US not the slaves, based on mutual and equality based relations. He said sovereignty of our country could not be compromised at any cost.

The Information adviser further said that PPP leadership has always adopted clear stance over national security issues and other foreign policy matters according to the aspirations of the people.

He said that the PTI Chief Imran Khan always suspicious about issues, whenever Nazims of MQM are elected in Karachi and Hyderabad, they always ignored and deprived the residential areas of Sindhi speaking people, whereas PPP believes to serve the people without any linguistic, political or religious discrimination and affiliation.

Chandio said that whenever PPP came into power, it always carried out mega development projects in urban as well as rural areas across the province without any kind of prejudice, which is one of the salient features of PPP manifesto.

Chandio said that people of Sindh are facing unscheduled and prolonged hours of power failure, which has multiplied their woes and hardships in scorching summer heat where mercury is touching 53 degrees.

He also criticised the latest statement of the state minister for Water and Power to continue load shedding in the approaching holy month of Ramadan adding that the federal government has miserably failed to resolve the issue of energy crisis which they claimed to address within six months after coming into power.

He said that in spite of lapse of three long years in government, the power crisis issue is not resolved and people are suffering due to negligence and ill-planned policies of the Water and Power Ministry. He further said that even in the holy month of Ramadan, people are not given facilities for fulfilling their religious obligation with ease but instead they will be subjected to hardships by continuing scheduled and unscheduled load shedding and frequent power outages.
