RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered for removing garbage dumped near the Rawalpindi Ladies Park.
Al-Baraka Company has dumped the trash near the park as the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has no landfill site to dump garbage collected from the city.
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also ordered for allotting six kanal to the company to set up a landfill site to dump the garbage.
Citizens and journalists had protested after the park, that is situated near the Rawalpindi Press Club, was converted into a filth depot.
A delegation of journalists had met Adviser to Chief Minister Sarfraz Afzal demanding removing the trash from the park area.
