LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader MNA Hamza Shahbaz has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif conducted nuclear tests on May 28, 1998 by disregarding all pressure due to which the defense of the country became invincible.

He said that Nawaz Sharif is again in power and would give a prosperous and problem-free Pakistan to the nation in 2018. Addressing a ceremony in connection with Yaum-e-Takbeer at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Hamza Shahbaz said that unfortunately, some elements are again trying to undermine democracy and hamper the process of national development. He said that the ‘Godfather’ of offshore companies, Imran Khan, should account for the misdeeds of Jehangir Tareen, who got his loans written off, and Aleem Khan, who has been involved in land grabbing, before giving lectures to others.

He said that Imran Khan also refused to accept the mandate of the people in 2013 but judicial commission of Supreme Court made the facts clear. Hamza said that Nawaz Sharif wrote a letter to Supreme Court because his hands are clean, adding that Imran Khan ran away from the assembly, as he could not give any answer.

He said that Imran Khan should know that Ittefaq Foundry was the biggest industry of Asia when Nawaz Sharif was student of Government College. He said that Imran Khan is afraid of the progress made by the country in the tenure of present government.

Hamza said that those who have not been able to bring any improvement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are challenging the lions in Punjab. “Nawaz Sharif came out for restoration of judiciary but Imran Khan was not seen at that time. NAB in the Musharraf era could not prove corruption of even a single penny against the Sharif family and no one has been able to point out any irregularity in investment of billions of dollars today. PML-N government has full confidence of the masses and the process of progress and prosperity of the country will continue vigorously,” the central leader added.

He said that people of Pakistan are waiting for 2018 and would again vote for PML-N, adding that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will soon return to the country after complete recovery.

PML-N workers were extremely enthusiastic on the occasion and were carrying models of Chagi Mountain and missile. They also raised slogans in favour of their party. Earlier, a large number of assembly members, office-bearers of PML-N and women workers welcomed Hamza Shahbaz. Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan led the prayer for the recovery of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Pervaiz Malik said that special prayers would be offered in every party office on May 31 for the health of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
