Neglected hostels in Islamabad

Author: Daily Times

Sir: The female students in our capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad are facing residential problems due to lack of student hostels.

It is a huge challenge for a student to find a good hostel with a comfortable environment. But conditions are so bad that students are forced to change their hostels several times during their education due to one reason or another.

Lack of power backups, cultural and social problems for working women among other problems. Students are forced to adjust to the unhygienic and poor environment of the hostels because there is no alternative available. Furthermore, these shelters lack the facilities of television, library, computers, recreational areas and playgrounds. Therefore, the city authorities should look into this matter and devise a strategy to build hostels with appropriate facilities for the students and working women.
