Shraddha to kickstart badminton training for Saina Nehwal biopic!

NEW DELHI: Shraddha Kapoor is geared up to prepare for her upcoming role as the badminton player Saina Nehwal.

This will be Shraddha’s second film in the biopic genre.

According to a report by Pinkvilla.com, Shraddha will soon kickstart her training in badminton under the coaching of a senior player from Prakash Padukone’s academy. Her practice will continue until she is ready to start shooting for the film.

The report also said that Shraddha considers this to be her toughest role untill now and that she really wants to bring her A game to set the standards as high as the badminton champion Saina.

Saina Nehwal’s biopic will be directed by Amole Gupte, who also directed ‘Taare Zameen Par’.

Saina Nehwal is a professional badminton singles player from India. Nehwal, the former world #1. She has won over 20 international titles, which include ten Superseries titles. Although she reached to the world #2 ranking in 2009, it was only in 2015 that she was able to attain the world #1 ranking. And thereby becoming the only female player from India and overall the second Indian player – after Prakash Padukone – to achieve this feat. She has represented India three times in the Olympics, winning bronze medal in her second appearance. Nehwal has achieved several milestones in badminton for India.
