Nuclear tests made Pakistan’s defence invincible: Hamza

Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Hamza Shahbaz Sunday said that the nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998 made Pakistan defence invincible.

Addressing a ceremony in connection with Yaum-e-Takbeer at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, he claimed that the PML-N government would make the country economically prosperous and peaceful.

In a veiled reference to the political rivals he said unfortunately some elements were trying to hamper the process of national development. “The godfather of offshore companies, Imran Khan, should account for the misdeeds of Jehangir Tareen who had gotten his loans written off,” he alleged.

He said that Imran Khan refused to accept the mandate of the people in 2013 but judicial commission of Supreme Court made the facts clear. He (Imran) always ran away from the attending the assembly as he could not give any answer.

He said that Imran Khan was afraid of the progress made by the country in the tenure of the PML-N government.

Brushing aside the allegations of corruption, the PML-N leader said that the Naitonal Accountability Bureau (NAB) could not prove corruption of even a single penny against Sharif family and no one has been able to point out any irregularity in investment of billions of dollars.

He said Nawaz Sharif and his government enjoyed full confidence of the masses and the process of progress and prosperity of the country will continue vigorously. “People of Pakistan are waiting for 2018 and will again vote PML-N,” he hoped. He maintained that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would soon return to the country after complete recover who is scheduled to undergo open-heart surgery tomorrow.

In the ceremony, the PML-N workers were extremely enthusiastic and were carrying models of Chaghi Mountain and missile.

Earlier, a large number of assembly members, office-bearers of PML-N and women workers welcomed Hamza Shehbaz. Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan led the prayer for the early recovery of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

Speaking on the occasions, PML-N Lahore president MNA Pervaiz Malik said that special prayers would be offered at every party office on 31 for the early recovery of Premier Nawaz.
