Singer Samra Khan to open for Adnan Sami in Dubai

KARACHI: Singer Samra Khan is going to open the concert for singer and actor Adnan Sami performing live at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday, which is the most prestigious musical venue in Dubai, hosting around 3,000-5,000 people.

Adnan Sami has a command of Indian and Western classical/semi-classical music, jazz, rock, pop, Indian classical music, fusion and Indian film music.

Samra Khan made her debut on ‘Coke Studio’ Season 8, in a duet featuring Asim Azhar, on a track that was catchy and melodious. She had also recorded several singles, television commercials and some playback songs.

On availing this honourable opportunity, Khan said, “After ‘Coke Studio’, this is going to be my first ever live performance, and it’s an honour for me to open the concert for Adnan Sami, singing both eastern and western songs.”

Khan is a promising singer, who came into the limelight for the first time as part of ‘Coke Studio’ season 8. Being a corporate banker by profession, she has been pursuing her passion for singing since a very early age, performing during her school and college life. She completed her MBA from IoBM (CBM) Karachi and moved to Australia, where she continued to balance both her banking and singing career and got her big break in ‘Coke Studio’ in 2015 with the Madam Noor Jahan song “Hina ki khushbu”, raking in over 1 million views on YouTube.
