ISLAMABAD: The federal government has allocated Rs 6.63 billion for 68 projects in the development budget of the ministry of housing and works in the budget for the financial year 2016-17.
Funds over six billion rupees have been earmarked for 43 ongoing projects, Rs 218 million for six new schemes and Rs 76 million for 199 additional projects after audit clearance.
According to budget documents available with the Daily Times, over Rs 6.33 billion have been earmarked for ongoing projects in the development budget of the ministry of housing and works including Rs 10 million for acquisition of land and construction of office cum residential accommodation Intelligence Bureau Dera Ismail Khan, Rs 15 million for rehabilitation of federal lodge No 1 Peshawar, Rs 4.10 million for boring of new tube wells and installation of pumping machinery in FGH Hassan Garhi Peshawar, Rs 20 million for the residential project of IB academy at Sector H-11 in Islamabad, Rs 22.4 million for construction ofthe Peshawar Federal lodge 11, Rs 41.9 million for the construction of an underpass railway crossing in Gujar Khan district Rawalpindi, Rs 73.6 million for construction of VIP Blocks, No 5 (32 Suites) at federal lodge 1 Qasr-e-Naz Karachi, Rs 100 million for Construction of National Accountability Bureau Punjab Complex Lahore, Rs 4.1 million for construction of 30 men’s barracks at NAB (B) Quetta, Rs 11.7 million for construction of an additional block for district accounts officer Fort Road, Peshawar.
Likewise Rs 47.8 million have been earmarked for the construction of a conference room and offices at the Prime Minister’s House Islamabad, Rs 300 million for the construction of metalled roads at Nankana Sahib (revised), Rs 15 million for the construction of a new road from Chandore Sharif to Haripur via Lassan Adda Palsala Jhokan district Mansehra, Rs 695 million for construction of new secretariat blocks, Constitution Avenue Islamabad, Rs 608.9 million for the construction of an office building for NAB Headquarters at G-5/1 Islamabad, Rs five million for the construction of offices Mess Bachelors Lodge in the premises of NAB (B) complexes, at Shahrah-e-Gulistan Quetta Cantt, Rs 30 million for the construction of Presstressed at Mongri to Fatehpur Afghana on Nullah Bahian, Shakargarh, Narowal, Rs 100 million for the construction of a residential accommodation at NAB KPK, Hayatabad Peshawar, Rs 25.1 million for the construction of a specialised commando training centre for anti Dacoit at Sakrand Road Benazir abad. Rs 490 million for development schemes in district Mansehra. Rs 87.4 million for development schemes in district Torghar, Rs 1.5 billion for dualisation and improvement of Mandra-Chakwal road project (66.405 km),
The documents said that Rs 1.10 billion have been allocated for dualisation and improvement of Sohawa-Chakwal Road, Rs 12 million for extension of IB Academy H-11/1 Islamabad, Rs 44.8 million for improvement and uplift of Gulshan-e-Jinnah at F-5/2 Islamabad, Rs 13 million for improvement of the security of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat Islamabad, Rs three billion for Mousakhel-Tounsa Road stretch to be constructed and linked with Zhob, Rs 9.1 million for provision of two numbers, lifts to AG Office Peshawar, Rs 12.2 million for provision of security measures, for NAB Punjab Complex Lahore and over Rs 6.33 billion for 14 more projects.
In respect of new schemes Rs 25 million have been earmarked for the construction of an additional examination hall at FPSC Provincial Office Lahore, Rs 14 million for the construction of an additional examination Hall (1st floor) at FPSC provincial office Peshawar, Rs 10 million for the construction of an additional examination Hall (1st floor) at FPSC Provincial office Quetta, Rs 10 million for the construction of a mosque in Minister’s Enclave F-5/2 Islamabad, Rs 100 million for development schemes Shangla , Rs 59 million for rehabilitation/widening of a road from village Makhiyana to Gojra Chowk, district Jhang. Overall Rs 218 million have been allocated for total new schemes.
Over Rs 1.21 billion have been spent out of the allocated funds for 43 ongoing projects while funds amounting to over Rs 5.12 billion have yet to be spent.
