PESHAWAR: A division bench of Peshawar High Court on Tuesday issued contempt of court notice to chairman Board of Management and director board of management of Pakistan Institute of Prosthetic and Orthotic Sciences Hayatabad for non-implementation of court orders.

The bench comprising Justice Nisar Hussain and Justice Musarrat Halali while hearing a writ petition filed by Rifaqat Afridi filed through his counsel Fazal Shah Mohmand was informed that the respondents were directed to allow the petitioner participate in the recruitment process. Mohmand said that the petitioner was not allowed to participate violating the court orders. He stated a post of Prosthetic and Orthotist was advertised on April 1, 2016 while the closing date to apply was April 15, 2016 for which the petitioner had also applied. However, after one week of closing date the management of the (PIPOS) issued a corrigendum changing the illegibility conditions illegally and the submission date of application was also extended, he said. He argued that the petitioner challenged the corrigendum and prayed to the PHC to declare it illegal. He stated that a division bench of PHC directed the authorities of PIPOS to allow the petitioner to participate in the recruitment process for the said posts. “However, the management of Pipos instead of allowing the petitioner issued the appointment orders without following the prescribed procedure,” he stated. The bench after hearing the arguments issued contempt of court notice to the respondents.
