QUETTA: The principal of University Law College Quetta was gunned down by unidentified assailants early Wednesday morning.
Barrister Amanullah Achakzai was critically wounded when unidentified armed men opened fire at him in Quetta’s Spinny Road area. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital Quetta where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased received 13 bullet injuries, hospital sources said. The police reached the crime scene and gathered evidence and launched investigation into the incident.
According to police, Achakzai was on his way to work when armed men on a motorcycle opened fire at him.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri has ordered an inquiry into the attack. Following the incident, lawyers in Balochistan boycotted court proceedings. In April last year, an assistant professor of the University of Karachi was shot dead by unidentified armed men. Assailants riding a motorcycle had fired shots at Dr Syed Wahidur Rehman in Karachi’s Federal B area.
