G-B plans drive against narcotics

GILGIT: Gilgit Baltistan government will act against narcotics on the pattern of National Action Plan (NAP), Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman said in a statement issued on Thursday.

He directed IGP Sabir Ahmed to start operation against narcotics in the region and expedite awareness drive against drug abuse. The CM also directed establishment of rehabilitation centres for drug addicts. “G-B government has adopted zero tolerance against narcotics and will implement anti-drug laws in letter and spirit,” he said in the statement. Rehman directed the IGP to intensify the awareness campaign against narcotics by holding programmes in schools, colleges and public places in all the districts of G-B.
