ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Dr Shireen Mazari on Friday submitted a privilege motion to National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, demanding an apology from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Khawaja Asif for using ‘unparliamentary’ language against her in the National Assembly.
“I wish to submit a privilege motion pertaining to the breach of my privilege as a member of the National Assembly during Khawaja Asif’s speech on June 8,” Mazari stated in the motion. She said, “His (Asif’s) attack on my person was unacceptable and his refusal to apologise further showed his deliberate intent to abuse a woman parliamentarian by attacking her person.”
