15 ‘illegal’ Afghan nationals arrested

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Police and security forces took 45 suspected men, including 15 Afghan nationals into custody from different parts of the capital city in the search and strike operation on Wednesday.

According to details, the search operation was conducted in the jurisdictions of Hayatabad police station and Sarband area. “15 Afghans illegally residing in Pakistan were arrested under the 14 Foreign Act in the door to door search operation,” Hayatabad Superintendent of Police Hassan Afzal said. He added that 19 tenants were also held for not registering their tenancy as per the directions. All the arrested persons were shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
