DADU: Dadu plunges into darkness on Friday after 28 power transformers mysterious either burnt or exploded in different parts of the city.

The city remains powerless for several hours in the sizzling summer.

Annoyed citizens took out to the streets to protest against SEPCO and burnt tyres. They said that most of the people are fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, but SEPCO has extended the power shutdowns.

However, SEPCO authorities justified the failure saying it’s because of the increasing demand of power.

“Due to overloads transformers weres burnt, but we are working to fix the issue,” said executive engineer Sepco Dadu Khalil Chandio.
