Three killed, five injured in Bannu armed clashes

BANNU: Three people died and five others sustained injuries in separate incidents of armed violence in the district on Friday, police sources said. Police said one Muslim Khan was killed while Pir Gohar Ali and Mehmud were injured during an armed clash between two rival groups minutes before Iftar in Chambheli Chowk in Bannu.

Four passers-by identified as Jameel Khan, Akhtar Jan, Abdul Qayyum, Tariq Khan and his minor son Rayan also sustained injuries in the Chambeli Chowk firing incident. The injured were taken to a local hospital where one of the wounded, Jameel Khan, succumbed to his wounds. Meanwhile, armed men killed one Sher Baz, son of Sher Daraz, near higher secondary school in the limits of Kaki police station.
