PESHAWAR: Opposition parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have decided to move court against “unjust” distribution of funds in the fiscal budget 2016-17.
Earlier on Thursday, when the quorum of the KP assembly was not full, Opposition Leader Maulana Lutf ur Rehman, Awami National Party (ANP) parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babak, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Sardar Aurngzeb Nalota and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Fakhr-e-Azam said that the provincial government and its ministers were not taking serious the discussion sessions on budget. They said that the KP government while preparing the budget for the year 2016-17 did not take into confidence the opposition parties. “For the first time in history, there was an around 20% cut in the provincial budget due to failed policies of the government,” they said.
They added that the provincial government was involved in corruption in billion tree tsumani project and land purchase in Nowshera. They said that the government awarded tenders to the PTI leaders who were allegedly purchasing the KP resources.
