ISLAMABAD: The most sophisticated institution of the country is the parliament but sadly the the beautiful flower pots and vases over there have changed into dustbins.
The flowers pots that were kept to beautify the atmosphere in the lobbies of the Parliament House and outside the chambers of the speaker, the deputy speaker, the opposition leader and the chief whip are now filled with trash like pieces of cigarettes, tissue papers and chicken bones, which give the place a very dirty look
Though the influx of visitors is much more in these lobbies but the administration does not bother to clean them. It is pertinent to mention here that almost 50 housekeepers are deputed by the CDA to keep the cleanliness of the Parliament House.
When Daily Times contacted the Member Environment of the CDA Sanaullah, he said that planting the saplings was the responsibility of the environment department while keeping the state of cleanliness is the function of the engineering department.
When this scribe contacted the Member Engineering Shahid Sohail he said that he did not know about the matter. However the concerned staff would be instructed to clean the flower pots and vases at the Parliament House.
When this reporter talked to Dr Azhar Jadoon, MNA from PTI he said that flower pots and vases were maintained to add to the beauty but due to negligence, they were becoming a source of ugliness. When the matter was brought into the notice of State Minister CADD Tariq Fazal Chaudhary, he said that he would take immediate notice on the situation and those who would be responsible for not making these flowers pots spotless, would be dealt with severely.
