Opposition terms Gallup survey on PM bogus and false

ISLAMABAD: The members of the National Assembly hailing from the opposition have termed the survey conducted by the Gallup regarding the popularity graph of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Panama leaks as bogus and false.

On Tuesday the MNAs from the opposition parties told Daily Times that the government was making tall claims about its popularity after exploitation of billions of rupees. If it goes to the public, it could better guess about its reputation.

During the last three years the government has chomped the commission in the projects of road construction by ignoring health, education and public welfare sectors.

They said that after the name of Nawaz Sharif appeared in the Panama leaks , the people were not ready to repose their confidence in him.

Surveys cannot save the credibility of the government rather such types of paid surveys also raise several questions on the trustworthiness of the conducting agency. In the days of elections such surveys are conducted to gain the political mileage but the results show something else.

The Senior Vice Chairman of PTI, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, said that the Gallup survey was an effort to give across the board advantage to the government.

Nafeesa Shah of the PPP said that those questions which were to be taken in the survey were not included. She also said that the condition of the people was in front of everybody and in these circumstances these kind of surveys could not enhance the popularity graph of the prime minister.

Shazia Mari a leader of the PPP said that these kinds of surveys were prepared just to get typical interests. The popularity of the prime minster had been exposed to the people .

She rejected the Gallup survey in which it was shown that the graph of the prime minister was going up. She said that the government murdered the wishes of civil servants in the recent budget in such a way that dropped the popularity graph of the prime minister to zero.

An MNA from the PPP Shahida Rehmani said that after the Panama leaks , Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif did not have the courage to face the parliament. She said that the majority of the political leaders as well as the public had rejected this survey as it was a gear of lying.

An MNA from the PTI Daud Kundi said that these kinds of surveys were conducted at the behest of the government, but they had nothing to do with reality .The fame of the prime minister could be judged well through the price hike, unemployment and the state of law and order in the country.

He said that Pakistan Tehrik Insaf neither gave any importance to these type of fake surveys nor it accepted these surveys which were conducted for earning money.

Another PTI MNA Amjad Khan said that the wealth of the rulers was multiplying day in and day out , while they were not paying any heed towards the problems of the public.

Sheryar Khan Afridi, another MNA of the PTI said that the government had allocated Rs 7.83 billion for media publicity and a “peculiar group” was being bestowed in this regard.

He said that the Gallup survey was used to achieve particular aims . The performance of the government could be ascertained by the fact that more than 80 PML(N) parliamentarians had shown no confidence with the government.

He said that at the time of the PTI’s sit-in in 2014, all the opposition parties were standing in the government’s camp but today all the opposition parties were united against the government.

He also said that the state of law and order in the country was not satisfactory. The government was warned by different quarters again and again about the implementation of National Action Plan . Everybody is worried about the situation in Karachi. The reservations of the MQM were not being removed. In midst of all these bedlams , the government was issuing such surveys that would further damage its standing in the eyes of the people.

An MNA from Jamaat-e-Islami Aishya Syed said that the government could not achieve its goals with the help of these fortified surveys. It seemed that it was the last effort to save the decreasing fame of the government.

Another MNA from PTI, Ali Muhammad Khan, said that if the government conducted the survey the in less developed areas of the country, it will know as to how many people dislike it.
