KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday presided over a law and order meeting to review rising criminal activities in city, particularly kidnapping of Owais Ali shah, son of Sindh High Court (SHC) chief justice a day before.
The chief minister directed the authorities concerned to take effect measure to maintain law and order in the province.
The said that law and order was the government’s top priority. He also expressed
grief and shock over the
kidnapping of the chief justice’s son.
It was decided in the meeting to start snap checking of the vehicles to end criminal activities. Positive role of Sindh Police and paramilitary force was sought in this regard.
Later, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durani in a separate meeting with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah shared three years performance of the Sindh Assemlby members and presented a book about brief success story.
The chief minister along with Sindh Home Minister met Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and assured the chief justice that all possible measures would be taken to recover his abducted son.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also voiced concerns over the abduction of Owais Ali Shah and directed Sindh Chief Minister to form a joint investigation team to retrieve Justice Sajjad Ali Shah’s son.
Meanwhile, Advisor to CM on Information Maula Bux Chandio said that the terrorists intended to pressurise judiciary by carrying out such acts.
He said that Sindh Chief Minister ordered to hasten the Karachi operation during the meeting. He added that Rangers and police officials have been directed to place blockades at the entrance and exit points of the city.
