ISLAMABAD: The sale of electronic cigarettes is on the rise in the twin cities as it is proving to be an option for chain smokers to quit smoking. According to a survey, it was observed that e-cigarettes may become a good source of encouraging smokers towards passive smoking and then help them in completely gettng rid of tobacco use. It said that most young smokers are reluctant to quit smoking in any way but when they have options like e-cigarettes then there may be chances that they stop smoking. E-cigarettes are generally available in major markets in Rawalpindi and Islamabad at different rates. The typical starter kit contains an e-cigarette device, a battery, a charger and several cartridges. The price depends on the manufacturer, model and style, an e-cigarette user Aftab Quershi said. “I earn a sufficient amount daily on the sale of e-cigarette equipment as mostly youths are among those frequently visiting my shop,” Abbas Ali said. “I also offer a refill service to those who bring e-cigarettes then the users visit me for refilling of the liquid of the e-cigarettes,” he added. He said that nicotine was also available in different flavors such as chocolate, cinnamon, strawberry and even bubble gum.
