ANF nabs 18 including five female drug peddlers

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in its campaign against drugs has nabbed 18 persons including five female smugglers in different operations across the country.

The ANF seized two vehicles and drugs comprised of 1.86 tonnes of hashish, 22.5 kilogrammes of heroin, 2.1 kilogrammes of Methamphetamine and 5 kilogrammes of opium in the operations.

The operations were recently conducted in Islamabad, Attock, Gilgit, Faisalabad, Lahore, Nowshera, Peshawar, Thatta, Karachi and Qila Abdullah in which 1.89 tonnes of narcotics worth Rs 1.29 billion in international market was seized. According to reports, ANF Quetta on Thursday while carrying out an intelligence led operation at Qila Abdullah seized 1.826 tonnes of hashish.

The drug consignment was concealed at a desolate site situated at Killi Qandeel, Tehsil Gulistan, district Qila Abdullah.

As per initial reports, the drug consignment was placed at cache site for handing over to another narcotics gang for further dispatch on receipt of safe signal. The ANF Rawalpindi recovered five kilogrammes of hashish from a drug carrier who was arrested near Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza, GT Road, Attock.

The ANF Rawalpindi, in another operation, recovered 500 grammes of heroin from possession of a drug carrier while arresting him at Gharsheen Bus Stop, GT Road, Attock. Similarly, the ANF Rawalpindi also recovered 2.5 kilogrammes of hashish from personal possession of the accused arrested near Bus Stand Jutial, Gilgit.

The ANF Rawalpindi, in another operation, intercepted a car near Khana Pul Bus Stop, Expressway, Islamabad, and recovered 7.5 kilogrammes of hashish concealed in it. Two persons on board were also arrested during the operation.

The ANF Rawalpindi recovered five kilogrammes of hashish from personal possession of a lady drug carrier who was arrested at Chungi no 26, Motorway Chowk, Islamabad.

In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki car near Railway Crossing Tarnol, Islamabad and recovered five kilogrammes of hashish, also arresting a drug carrier.

Similarly, the ANF Lahore arrested a drug peddler lady named Razia Bibi along with the recovery of three kilogrammes of hashish which was found in her personal possession. She was arrested from Bhatti Chowk, Lahore.

In another operation, the ANF Lahore Road Check Team during routine checking near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad, arrested a drug carrier named Javed Khan, resident of Mardan and recovered 500 grammes of heroin concealed in sole of his shoes.

He was arrested at Daewoo Bus Terminal, Faisalabad.

The ANF Lahore in a recovered 380 grammes of heroin concealed inside a parcel being sent to Poland through a courier service company based at Lahore. Heroin was concealed in baby comforter set.

Similarly, the ANF Lahore in another operation intercepted a parcel at an office of air cargo company situated at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, seizing 1.13 kilogrammes of heroin concealed inside the gloves. The parcel was destined for UK.

On a similar note, the ANF Lahore while raiding near Niazi Bus Stand, Band Road, Lahore, arrested two persons including Ameer Muhammad, resident of Faisalabad and Humayun Khan, resident of Kohat, recovering 2.4 kilogrammes of Hashish from their possession.

Similarly, ANF Karachi on receipt of information intercepted a container at Pakistan International Container Terminal, Seaport, Karachi and recovered 20 kilogrammes of Heroin, which was intended to be smuggled abroad. The container was destined for Jakarta. The heroin was tactfully concealed inside the wheel rims of tractors. In another operation, the ANF Karachi recovered 2.1 kilogrammes of Methamphetamine from Abdul Rehman, resident of Qila Abdullah who was arrested near Regal Chowk, Saddar, Karachi.

Similarly, a drug peddler Dildar Khan was arrested by ANF Karachi along with recovery of one kilogramme of heroin, which was found in his personal possession. He was arrested near Student Biryani, Saddar, Karachi.

In fourth operation, ANF Karachi arrested a local drug supplier Muhammad Hussain, resident of Thatta near Thatta Bypass, Thatta City, recovering four kilogrammes of hashish from his possession. The ANF Peshawar arrested a lady smuggler Nazir Jana Bibi and her male accomplice Zameen Gul, both residents of Upper Dir, recovering five kilogrammes of opium from their possession.

They were arrested near Rashakai Interchange, Nowshehra while travelling in a passenger bus bound for Lahore.

In another operation, ANF Peshawar arrested two lady smugglers Aashi Bibi and Maria Bibi, both residents of Peshawar along with 4.8 kilogrammes of hashish. They were arrested near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar while travelling in a passenger van.

All cases have been registered in ANF police stations and further investigations are under progress.
