ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday strongly condemned the blast that took place in Quetta’s Almo Chowk in which several precious lives were lost, according to a statement issued by the PM House.
The prime minister prayed for forgiveness of the departed souls and commiserated with the bereaved families. He directed the authorities concerned to provide special medical care to the injured. He said that such cowardly acts of terrorism could not deter their resolve to root out terrorism from Pakistan.
He stated that the sacrifices of people would not go in vain and even the last terrorist would be eliminated from the motherland. The remote-controlled blast occurred near Almo Chowk at a shop on Airport Road, spreading widespread panic in the area. Security officials confirmed three deaths in the incident while over 20 injuries.
They said explosives weighing 8 to 10 kilograms were installed on a motorcycle which was parked outside a shop. Police and rescue officials rushed to the site of the blast soon after the blast and cordoned the area.
