Polyclinic gets new machinery, security system

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Government Hospital Polyclinic has installed more than 30 security cameras, nine ventilators, four cardiac monitors and four new dialysis machines at the hospital to facilitate the patients. Eight new counters have been set up to distribute free of cost medicines.

Executive Director (ED) Polyclinic Doctor Raja Amjid Pomi while taking to Daily Times said that millions of rupees worth of medicines were being stolen from the hospital so the security cameras and bar coding system had been installed for the prevention of theft.

He said ” We have a record of every medicine that is provided to the patients”.

“A modern emergency is being constructed so the emergency centre will be transferred from inside to outside the building”. The modern machinery is being installed including four dialysis machines on the direction of the State Minister CADD Doctor Tariq Fazal chaudary . the ED stated.

The state minister has given instructions to provide proper attention and facilities to the patients and they were working on that. While talking about the security camera and bar code system the chief pharmacist Dr Amina said that certain improvements could be observed at the Polyclinic Hospital with the coming of the ED Dr Raja Amjad Mehmood.

Medical stores have been computerised on the directions of the ED to look up the accountability of the stock. The medicines will be bar-coded and the bar coded medicine will be given to the patients.

Furthermore 12 security cameras have been installed to prevent the burglary of medicines. He further said that all the new facilities including security cameras and computer systems had been installed with the help of donors. We are not spending a single penny out of the hospital’s fund, he said. Rs 1.5 million have been spent to upgrade the medical stores and the funds are being collected from the donors.

The Chief pharmacist said that the dispensary had also been expanded on the directions of the ED to facilitate the patients. Initially there were four counters to provide medicines and now it the number has reached eight.
