ISLAMABAD: Adviser on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani on Saturday said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan was an emotional and imbalanced person and he was surrounded by ATMs (auto-teller machines) who had concealed their offshore companies and criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, whose name was not even mentioned in the Panama Papers.

“Imran Khan along with other PTI leaders Jehangir Tareen and Aleem Khan would be made accountable after formation of the judicial commission (to investigate Panama Papers),” he said. He also said that the offshore companies were formed in the world to evade taxes. If any judicial commission was constituted, it would also hold accountability of Jhangeer Tareen, Imran Khan and Aleem Khan, he added.

He speaking at a ceremony which was attended by Kashmiri leaders Shah Ghulam Qadir, Naureen Arif, Raja Iftikhar Ayub, Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, Dr Muhammad Arif Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Malik, Asad Aleem Shah, Syed Mukhtar Gilani and other Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leaders and workers.

Dr Kirmani said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N would form government in Azad Jammu Kashmir after the state elections following which the governments in Islamabad and Muzaffarabad would effectively endeavour to solve the Jammu Kashmir issue. On the occasion, Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah announced to join the PML-N and support its candidate Naureen Arif.

Similarly, Mukhtar Gilani announced his support for Asad Aleem Shah in Valley 4 constituency. Dr Kirmani welcomed Manzoor Hussain Shah for joining the PML-N and said his party would give him due respect. “Those giving 45 years to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are saying that this party is no more of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto or Benazir Bhutto as corrupt mafia has set record of corruption in the state,” he added.

He said that the PML-N was too much strong and functional in the Kashmiri state and it would ensure accountability of corrupt elements there after coming into power. He said that people had great love for Nawaz Sharif and their affiliation with his party could not be changed. The PML-N was the party of loyal persons and it was essential to follow party discipline, he said.

He hoped that aspiring candidates would withdraw their papers on June 27 in favour of the candidates nominated by the party. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan during Ramazan and to visit Azad Jammu Kashmir in case doctors allowed him.

He said that the Muslim League had been in power for the last three years but no case of corruption had surfaced against any of its ministers. He said that Almighty Allah had gifted this nation with a person like Nawaz Sharif who had made numerous sacrifices for the Kashmiri people. On the occasion, Manzoor Shah criticised the PPP politics, saying the corruption was rampant during its rule.
