KARACHI: The police killed three alleged robbers during an encounter in Shah Latif Town area of the city in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to rescue sources, a gang of three unknown robbers were busy looting people at gunpoint in Shah LatifTown when police reached the scene. The accused opened fire on police team which was retaliated by the police.
During exchange of fire, the criminals suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot. The police also have recovered weapons, bullets, cash and motorbikes from their possession.
The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical for medico- legal formalities. One accused identified as Kashif but nothing was found to identify other two.
SHO Shah Latif Town told that the gang was very active in the area especially after the beginning of Ramadan.
About the encounter he further informed that at night around 1:45am that at Murghi Khana Bridge Qaidabd three accused were killed in encounter after police received information about the incident of street crimes near the spot.
They snatched 7 thousand 1 mobile phone and a valet from the complainant Abid at the street of modern T.V Murghi Khana stop just a few minutes before the encounter. He added.
The complainant Abid has identified the 3 accused that they were the ones who had snatched cash and mobile from him .Seven thousand cash, valet NIC of the complainant 1 Mobile phone 3 T.T Pistols with rounds and motorcycle 70 unique without number plate was recovered .
